Dragonfly Transitions
Dragonfly Transitions, located in downtown Klamath Falls, Oregon, has joined the Independent Small Programs Alliance (ISPA).
Andy Anderson, ISPA Managing Partner stated, “Dragonfly is a program ISPA has pursued as a member for some time due to their quality, innovative program offering. Also, the fact that Dragonfly Founders and Owners, Mona Treadway and Glenn White are two top-notch professionals with a clear and positive vision and mission which is driven by a commitment to serving young people and their families. “
The program serves 18-25 year old men and woman who are struggling to launch in their potential in academics, occupation and relationships. Often these problems have been exacerbated, exposed, and/or compounded by the changing circumstances inherent in the transition from adolescence to young adulthood. Dragonfly Transitions is designed to address the problems in living that result from mood disorders, adjustment disorders, substance-related disorders, trauma related disorders, anxiety disorders, and problems related to delayed emotional development as each may be understood within the context of changing expectations in their surrounding world as they transition to a new stage of life – adulthood.
Integrating our young adult clients back into the “flow” of life in healthy, adaptive ways is the ultimate goal. Learning to manage their individual struggles within the context of daily living and all the stressors inherent in managing school, work, relationships, bills and the like is essential to balanced, healthy living. Dragonfly Transitions has been thoughtfully located in downtown Klamath Falls. The program is interwoven into the community, as are most aspects of the treatment process. All clients are expected to build a full time schedule of school, work, or a combination of both. Clients are mentored to learn how to connect with their community to build a social life and meaningful recreation to replace the void that appears in the presence of unhealthy living.
The treatment team at Dragonfly Transitions is comprised of several Bachelor level mentors, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, the Program Director, a Master’s in Social Work and a Psychiatrist. The treatment plan provides each client with a wrap-around plan to meet the range of needs for the individual. This multidisciplinary approach allows the team to make use of the teachable moments that invariably occur throughout daily living.
Dragonfly Transitions is a sister program to Dragonfly Adventures.
