What ISPA is about:
ISPA is about the historical, current
and future foundations of service provision to young people and
their families. It is built on a belief that programs of all sizes,
types and geographic locations should be evaluated and given
credence not only because of their size, financial reach and static
goals, but on competence, forward thinking, adaptability and
unerring commitment to service to young people and families before
all others.
ISPA is
Wilderness Programs
Adventure Based Programs providing wilderness experiences,
creative adventure based programming and helping young people grow,
heal and learn through wilderness therapy and the discovery of ones
self and ones strengths and capabilities previously unknown or
forgotten. Whether On a trek in Utah or on a Wagon Train in Arizona, ISPA members are focused on the child, the family and the treatment
and education task at hand. Extreme competence and care in these
activities are the watchwords. RedCliff

ISPA is
about Residential Treatment Centers
(Grove School, CT) (Alpine Academy,
UT) and Home-Based Residential Programs (Building
Bridges, Inc., MT) where treatment, therapy and education are
presented in a milieu of normalcy and understanding that individuals
experience individual problems. The means to dealing with these
problems is through not only competent professionals and solid
therapy/academics, but by ensuring that ethics and integrity are
incorporated into each activity, action, meeting and service with a
central focus on the person. Their family, their referral source’s
role, their therapist’s teacher’s and residential life mentor’s
responsibilities and actions are student/client centered, attentive
to time and progress and ending in an exit to the most beneficial
and appropriate location, whether that be home, school, work or a
step down program fitting the individual student/client’s needs and
assets.
ISPA is
about Young Adult – Transitional Programs
Meeting the real needs of emerging adults. By
ensuring that young adults do not fit into a canned means of
addressing this population, but targets and focuses on strength
based platforms, innovative responses to unique problems and
stressors. ISPA Young Adult Programs lift up young adults by showing
them that they can stand up and stand alone if willing to make the
effort and shore up any weak areas. Remembering the individual
strength and resilience that exists in each human being allows the
extra effort and the extra mile raise the road for these sometimes
forgotten young people. Life Development Institute, AZ New

ISPA is Boarding Schools
(The Oliverian School) that special
place and environment that brings forth not only the best in
academic excellence, but also the excellence of self and
self-expression. A place where parents know their children are in
experienced and competent hands. Where creativity, adventure
programming, outdoor activities and coliseums of intellect are woven
into a durable practical fabric that is powerful on its own, but
when studied, becomes colorful, gleaming, stunning and geometric in
its impact. Experience, competence, character, challenging, these
words describe ISPA and our educational members.
ISPA is Therapeutic Boarding Schools
Providing an environment for young people who
need to be not only challenged, taught and helped academically,
clinically and residentially, but quite simply, valued for self and
understood. ISPA schools and programs are student and family focused
and work closely with referring professionals to ensure stable
communications. Importantly also they ensure a true team exit for
students that has the input of all professionals at hand. F.L.
Chamberlain School, MA.
ISPA is Therapeutic Online High Schools
Therapeutic Online
High Schools (Kaplan College Preparatory School) provide an opportunity for individuals in Therapeutic
Schools and programs to receive accredited online instruction. The
School or program may wish to use these services as a complete high
school for students or on a part-time or supplemental basis.
It can be used to close the gap in programs between varying grade
levels and abilities and offer exceptionally gifted students a means
of not only receiving the level of education they are capable of and
require, but to reach far beyond academically into advanced
placement
